The Island, despite the name, is not populated by chicken, not even there is any legend talking of young girl turned into a chicken due to unrequited love by any merciless God. Chicken Island, true name is Dam Khwan Island and owes its name to the chicken head shape rock located on the southern part of the island.
Chicken Island is a limestone mountain covered by vegetation with a couple of small beaches appearing with the low tide but is well renowned for a spectacular snorkelling among tiger fishes and coral gardens.
The characteristic island shape is actually a kind of local trade mark and obviously became the symbol of Krabi sea.

Arrival at Tup Island and its sand bank. Time for relax on the beach, swimming and snorkeling.
Koh Yawasam (this is the true name of Tup Island) is great in its simplicity: it may appear as a small insignificant island with limited space to enjoy the beach but, if you just look beyond appearances you will realize that, since you get off the boat, you just arrived in a mesmerizing place, a small paradise of clear waters and white beach. Tup Island is located half way between Poda and Chicken Island and it’s just a bit more than a narrow strip of sand. Its peculiarity is the sand bank, a thin sandy strip that, accordingly with the tide, separates or connect two islands. During low tide you can enjoy a memorable walk from Tup to Chicken Island. So if it’s high or low tide you would get different view as well different experience.
